Set your goal in glasses or milliliters, tap quick-add buttons as you drink, and start a gentle interval timer while this tab is open. Everything is stored locally on your device — no accounts, no uploads, no tracking.

Hydration logs and reminder settings are stored only in your browser's localStorage. No data is uploaded or shared.

How to use Water Drink Reminder & Hydration Tracker

  1. 1Set your daily hydration goal and choose glasses or milliliters in Settings.
  2. 2Tap +1 glass, +250 ml, or +500 ml each time you drink to update today's progress.
  3. 3Pick a reminder interval (30, 45, 60, 90 minutes, or custom) and press Start.
  4. 4Enable notifications on click if you want desktop alerts; keep the tab open for best results.
  5. 5Review the 7-day history chart to spot patterns and adjust your goal over time.

Examples

8-glass daily goal

Progress bar fills as you log; resets automatically at midnight.

Goal: 8 glasses (2,000 ml) — tap +1 glass eight times throughout the day.

60-minute reminder

Quiet hours (e.g. 10 PM–7 AM) pause reminders overnight.

Interval: 60 min — Start at 9:00 AM; next nudge at 10:00 AM while tab stays open.

Tips & common mistakes

  • Keep this tab open or pinned for the most reliable reminders — background tabs may be throttled by your browser.
  • Use quiet hours so you are not nudged late at night or early morning.
  • Log water right after drinking so your daily total stays accurate.
  • Aim for steady sips across the day rather than chugging at the end.
  • On iOS Safari, system notifications are limited — rely on the in-tab sound and visual alert.

Frequently asked questions

Do reminders work when the browser tab is closed?
Not reliably. Reminders are designed to work while this page is open. Browsers throttle background tabs, and iOS Safari does not support dependable closed-tab notifications. For best results, keep the tab open or pinned.
Is my hydration data uploaded anywhere?
No. Your goal, intake log, settings, and reminder state are saved only in your browser's localStorage on this device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
How does the daily reset work?
Each calendar day starts fresh at midnight in your local timezone. Yesterday's total moves into the 7-day history chart; today's counter resets to zero.
What are quiet hours?
Quiet hours let you set a time range (for example 10 PM to 7 AM) when reminders will not fire. You can still log water manually during quiet hours.
How much is one glass?
One glass is 250 ml by default. You can also log exact amounts with the +250 ml and +500 ml buttons, or switch your goal display between glasses and milliliters.
Why did I not get a notification?
Check that you clicked Enable notifications and allowed permission in your browser. Notifications require the tab to be open for reliable delivery on most platforms. The in-tab sound and visual overlay still work when sound is enabled.
